Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, everyone!

If you've been working this week, you're definitely ready for the weekend. If you're a teacher like me, you're crying because you have a limited number of days left off. #struggles.

Today I'm linking up with A Little Bit of Everything, Grace and Love, and Momfessionals to share some of my favorites from the week! This week is a good one, folks! Grab your coffee and settle in. :)

Thanks to the best mom in town, I got the Painted Fox stand that I've been eyeing for months! As soon as I saw this stand, I knew that my kitchen needed it. Now that I have it, I need advice. What the heck do I put on it? I want a mixture of decor with actual useful items for my coffee area. Ideas?

I may have found the most comfortable dress on the planet. Loft doesn't carry this one anymore, but this one is made from the same material. Y'all, it really does feel like the most luxurious cashmere made into a super flattering and easy dress. Pair it with some boots, or wear it with sandals in the spring! You can't go wrong here.

While were looking at the Lou and Grey dress, do you see that darling scarf? I love that it's two-sided and each pattern peeks through.

I have such a hard time trying to find jewelry to match certain outfits, so I'm often lacking in the accessory department. Oh a whim, I decided why not make jewelry to match various things in my closet!? This is something I threw together this week. What do you think?

Watch here

I must be living under a rock because I just started the second season of Fuller House! Where have I been? I love that Ryan loves to watch this with me (he's not a big TV person, so I'm happy when we have a chance to watch something together), but I just want to binge watch them in one sitting. Loving what I've seen so far.

Those are my favorites for the week! I hope everyone enjoys their New Years plans!

See you all in 2017. :)

2016 in Review

It was so much fun to look back on all my photos from 2016! I realized that a lot more happened this year, than I thought!

2017 has a lot to live up to!

In January, I took my favorite kiddos to The Amazing Escape Room! It was so much fun, even though we didn't quite make it out!

After 6 years together, we wanted to do something different from the normal Valentine's date. We've gone to our fair share of fancy dinners, so we wanted something more fun this year. Medieval Times lived up to the hype! From the time you walk in, you feel like you've been thrust back into Medieval Times. The food is amazing and the show was completely entertaining. I would 100% go back again!

Okay, so this one is a little embarrassing, but I should post it as inspiration for myself in the new year. My 2016 resolution was to get back in to the gym and eat healthier. I actually stuck with it until the summertime. I was getting back into running, but the summer heat kicked my butt and it kind of fizzled out. This will be my inspiration for 2017!

The perks of being a teacher are all the breaks! These two tired out teachers decided to get away to California for spring break! I had never visited the West Coast before, and I was blown away. There's no comparison between the East Coast and the West Coast. Sign me up for that California life.

How cute is our hotel? The Hotel California was perfect for our trip and I would totally recommend it!

Wow! In looking back at my old pictures, I realized May was a big month!

I was seriously adulting in May with getting a car 100% on my own. My previous vehicles were either technically owned by my parents, or were co-signed. This was a big one!

My little (yes, little) brother got married in the most precious backyard wedding! Congrats Cody and Shelby!

I had all the heart eyes for my handsome date.

Oh, and the bestie and I hung out with James Taylor from the Bachelorette. He's just as sweet as he seemed on the show.

In June, Ryan and I took an amazing European vacation for 2 weeks! London and Paris are amazing cities and you MUST visit them in your lifetime!

July began with a kitchen remodel all done ourselves! We added backsplash and repainted the ugly oak cabinets. We were soon happy with how it turned out! Here's a before and after:

Also, School started incredibly early this year (we're talking the last week of July- Happy Birthday to me!) The good news though, is that we have an INCREDIBLY team this year. First grade teachers rock.

We celebrated Ryan's birthday by going zip lining in North Georgia! How cool of an experience!

This lady and I took a weekend trip to North Georgia to Ellijay. Her parents have a cabin, so we spent the weekend kayaking, drinking wine, and celebrating upcoming Fall!

The month of October is so much fun! There are so many festivals to go to around our town! That's how we spent our month of October!

Here's Chalk-toberfest:

and here's Owl-O-Ween:

We added a new fur baby this month!

This month was filled with all kinds of holiday activities and traditions!

Holiday parties with the best work pal anyone could ever have!

Kindness Recap

I hope everyone had the merriest of Christmases!
Today I'm recapping a little bit about my Countdown to Christmas: Random Acts of Kindness!

If you missed my post at the beginning of the month, click here to here all about my tradition to spread positivity during the month of December.

This year was another strong one! I forget how much fun it is to do these little things each day!

Some of the highlights included:

Taking donuts to the fire station down the road from my house. They were totally surprised with me showing up at the door with two dozen of these babies!

Leaving little notes on public bathroom mirrors! This one is actually hard to do without anyone seeing you!! There's always someone in the dang bathroom!

I hit up multiple bathrooms during my afternoon errands!

Donating to people/pets in need was on the calendar this year. I actually found myself saying "yes" a lot more during check out at the grocery store. $1-$5 can go a long way when enough people say "yes."

Baking cookies for coworkers and my class was so much fun! I was very happy with how my cookies turned out!! This will be on the calendar next year too.

Those were just a few things that were on my list this year. I encourage others to try this with their own children and families! I can't wait to incorporate children into this tradition!

Make sure to stop back tomorrow for What's Up Wednesday!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, everyone!!

Am I the only one who blinked and Christmas weekend was here?!

Today I'm linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share some of my favorites for the week. This one was kind of difficult since I've been focusing a lot of my attention on gifts for others. Not much that I'm purchasing for myself lately.

If you missed my Stitch Fix review for December, you can check it out here. I was very impressed this month, so of course I'm keeping my subscription...for now. :)

Mom, if you're reading, you should stop now. My mom fell in love with these rain boots a few weeks back, but didn't end up purchasing them for herself. Little does she know, that I got them for her for Christmas! How cute are these?! Find them here and BONUS- they're on sale! :)

This week I shared mine and Ryan's Christmas card. I'm so happy with how it turned out!

Do you need any last minute gifts for your kiddos? I don't have one personally, but my school uses them in our media center. My class got to play with them this week and I had just as much fun as they did! Ozobots would be a winning gift for any techie adult, or any child.

This week we had a little holiday get together with my favorite girlies from work. I love these ladies so much- I'm so fortunate to get to see them each and every day.

I posted a few weeks ago about a tradition that I was starting this year. I wanted to start decorating cookies with Ryan, and then incorporate children in the future. This went exactly as I had planned and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out!  So much fun!

Well, those are my favorites from the week! I hope everyone has the BEST Christmas weekend ever. I can't wait to hear about everyone's recaps on Monday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
